update from south america!

ok, seems i´ve been sending the group emails instead of updating the blog! but here i am in south america! FINALLY, after years of dreaming about it. had a week in buenos aires upon arriving, and unfortunately it rained for most of that week (strange for BsAs apparently, just our luck :P) but still did lots of exploring around the city....

then caught the boat across the very brown rio la plata to uruguay!! spent 3 days in this laid-back little country, visiting colonia (gorgeous), montevideo (the capital city) and punta del este (the famous beach resort town, although it doesn´t even come close to matapouri). colonia has the most delicious icecream.

now we are in ushuaia... the end of the world!!!! (fin del mundo in spanish) it´s gorgeous, 70000 people and the most stunning mountains i´ve ever seen due to the blues, greens and oranges spread across them. we are here until friday morning when we catch a bus to puerto natales to explore south america´s most impressive national park... which is actually in chile! from there we just keep working our way up through patagonia. pics for ushuaia and beyond will be updated as soon as i find the next reliable internet connection :)
